Kristin B. Stecher, Ph.D.
Bio
I am currently a researcher
in the newly formed Microsoft Fuse Labs (previously the Microsoft Research Creative Systems Group).
In the past I interned in the Microsoft Research VIBE group. I received my doctorate in social psychology from the
University of Washington.
I completed my undergrad from
Rice University in Houston, Texas before moving back to the West Coast.
My research applies social cognitive techniques to explain how users form impressions of one another and interact online.
I am interested in understanding how social computing tools can ultimately enable people to collaborate, connect and better communicate with one another in a variety of settings.
